Mexico

One Dollar. One Tree.

Reforestation in Mexico will help support vital flora and fauna, promote biodiversity, and impact local communities through sustainable action. Learn more

With your help, we will:

  • Support local flora and fauna & promote biodiversity
  • Regulate soil and ambient temperature
  • Promote climate stabilization through carbon sequestration
  • Mexico is the land of extremes with sweeping deserts in north, high mountains in the center, and dense rainforests in the south and east. Each of these different ecosystems is home to diverse flora and fauna that are essential to the biodiversity of this country. Reforestation in this country will help to regenerate ecosystems that are suffering from forest and plant cover loss. This loss of forest and plant cover is bringing serious consequences such as fires, decreased biodiversity, droughts, erosion, soil degradation, and air pollution. Restoration and regeneration efforts will support these ecosystems in need by planting trees.
  • As in many parts of the world, there are problems with deforestation in this country. The loss of forest cover is causing fires, decreased biodiversity, and much more. By implementing reforestation as a means of regeneration and restoration, this project will help to stabilize the climate, support and protect biodiversity, increase nutrients in the soil, clean air & water, and so much more!
  • A personalized tree certificate (see gallery) to say thanks for your donation. We'll also send you reports on our Mexico projects, so you can track the impact your trees are having on the community and environment.
  • To maximize the impact of your donation, our partner will plant native species, including Michoacan pine, red  mangrove, Pseudostrobus pine, and mesquite.

Why Plant in Mexico?

Creating Habitat

Creating Habitat

With the loss of forest cover, many vital species are losing their habitats to deforestation and land degradation. Planting trees in Mexico will help create habitats for many species across the country. With the creation of habitats, this will help to promote and improve the biodiversity throughout the different ecosystems of Mexico.

Community Restoration

Community Restoration

This project will include restoration on public land as well as privately owned land, creating spaces and opportunity accessible to communities and landowners alike. Indigenous communities will be at the center of restoration, taking care of the land and preserving it for the decades that will follow.

Protecting Soil

Protecting Soil

Planting trees helps keep soil in place, which will slow erosion and preserve the landscape in the face of natural disasters. The risk of landslides, a threat to the area, are greatly reduced when trees take root in the soil. This project will help maintain the shape of the land and the safety of the communities that live there.
